  • Subscribe to our newsletter. We collect your email address and, optionally, your first name when you subscribe through our email signup forms. Newsletter services are provided through Buttondown.
  • Submit a contact form. We collect your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
  • Interact with our content. If you submit feedback, respond to polls, or participate in interactive features, we collect the information you provide.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically through cookies and similar tracking technologies:

  • Device and browser information. Browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen resolution, and language preferences.
  • Usage data. Pages visited, time spent on pages, click patterns, scroll depth, referring URLs, and exit pages.

  • _ga — Distinguishes unique visitors by assigning a randomly generated client ID. Duration: 2 years.
  • _ga_[container-id] — Maintains session state and stores property-specific session data. Duration: 2 years.
  • _gid — Distinguishes visitors for session and engagement tracking. Duration: 24 hours.

Meta Pixel

We use the Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., to measure advertising effectiveness on Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram), build audiences for future advertising, and retarget visitors who have interacted with our Site.

When you visit the Site, the Meta Pixel may collect data about your browsing activity and send it to Meta. Meta may use this data to show you ads on its platforms.

  • _fbp — Identifies your browser for advertising and analytics purposes. Duration: 90 days.
  • _fbc — Stores click identifiers when you arrive from a Facebook advertisement. Duration: 90 days.

Cloudflare Turnstile

We use Cloudflare Turnstile, provided by Cloudflare, Inc., to protect our forms from automated abuse. Turnstile processes limited client-side signals to determine whether an interaction is from a human visitor. It does not set persistent tracking cookies. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Managing Cookies

Most browsers allow you to manage cookie preferences through their settings. You can block all cookies, delete existing cookies, or block third-party cookies. Note that disabling cookies does not prevent all data collection — certain information (such as IP address and browser type) is transmitted as part of standard web requests.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve our content. We analyze aggregate usage data to understand which content is most useful and to plan future content.
  • To send our newsletter. If you subscribe, we use your email address to send our weekly newsletter. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for monetary compensation. However, under certain state privacy laws (including the CCPA), sharing data with advertising partners for targeted advertising may be considered a "sale" or "share." See "Your Privacy Rights" below for opt-out rights.

We share personal information with the following third parties:

  • Vercel, Inc. — Hosts our Site and provides edge caching. Processes server logs including IP addresses. Privacy Policy.
  • Buttondown — Provides newsletter infrastructure. Stores your email address and metadata for delivery. Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. — Provides bot protection for forms. Privacy Policy.
  • Google LLC — Receives analytics data through GA4. Privacy Policy.
  • Meta Platforms, Inc. — Receives browsing activity data through the Meta Pixel for ad targeting and measurement. Privacy Policy.

We may also disclose your information to comply with legal obligations, protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

Your Privacy Rights

All Users

  • Unsubscribe from newsletters at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email.
  • Request deletion of your information by contacting us.

  • The Meta Pixel will not load, and no data will be sent to Meta for advertising.
  • Google Analytics will not load.
  • No further action is required on your part.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We share certain data with Google and Meta through cookies and tracking technologies for analytics and advertising. Under the CCPA and similar state laws, this may constitute "selling" or "sharing" personal information. You may opt out by:

Data Retention

  • Newsletter subscriber data — Retained while your subscription is active. Deleted within 30 days of unsubscribing.
  • Analytics data (GA4) — Retained for 14 months, then automatically deleted by Google.
  • Meta Pixel cookies — Expire after 90 days.
  • Contact form submissions — Retained for up to 12 months after resolution.
  • Server logs — Retained by Vercel per their standard retention periods.

Children's Privacy

Our Site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

International Users

Our Site is hosted in the United States and primarily directed at U.S. audiences. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer.
